Beyond the pathogen: designing monitoring for a forest experiment
A report involving Ingham on the design of biological monitoring.
Proceedings published:
The research question
The report designs monitoring of nontarget organisms after chloropicrin application to forest stumps. [1]
What is monitored
It includes the plant community, decomposer food web, microarthropods and mycorrhiza formation. [1]
A map for our reading
It is useful to read the design before the results. Which organisms were selected? Where and when are samples collected? These questions help us follow the subsequent research more clearly.
Where the report fits
This is a study-design report. It connects with Part 2 and the later 1996 paper presented in our collection.
