Rodale: a new guide to viable organic production
Regenerative News · Announcement of 6 October 2026
The transition to organic and regenerative production requires healthy soil, knowledge and an organized approach to selling farm products. The Rodale Institute has presented a free guide that connects growers’ decisions with actual market needs.
Understanding the market before producing
The Farmers’ Toolkit 2026 examines the US organic market, with regional analyses and information from interviews with 28 professional buyers.
It encourages growers to discuss the following with potential buyers early on:
- Which products, quality standards and quantities they need.
- Which certifications and specifications they require.
- When and how products should be delivered.
- How prices and payment terms are determined.
Cooperation supports economic viability
Demand alone does not guarantee that farm products will reach buyers. Storage, processing, transport, labour and coordination between growers and buyers influence the economic operation of a farm.
The guide highlights the importance of partnerships with cooperatives, processors, certification bodies and advisors. Choices should reflect the crop, region and available infrastructure.
Connection with our field work
At our Center, we aim to connect the regeneration of olive groves with growers’ economic viability. Cooperation, documentation of farming practices and recognition of product quality can support this effort alongside the restoration of soil life.
